What a great end to Summer School! The children have worked so hard and have been fantastic - well done to everyone that attended! The children were also introduced to Countdown and they may have outsmarted the teachers 😬 🕰 pic.twitter.com/zgllXaGGFi

Nursery

The nursery at Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred is an Early Years provision with warm and welcoming staff. Our staff are a dedicated team of individuals who work together in a professional manner to promote a wide and varied Early Years Provision. Our highly qualified and experienced staff offer the children a learning through play based experiences, under the areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. This contributes to the development of the ‘whole child’ as our aim is to enable all our children to have fun and foster a love for learning.

The I CAN setting for children who may have speech and language difficulties is also based within the mainstream nursery at Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred.

The nursery consists of:

Morning session: 24 mainstream children and up to an additional 8 I CAN children.

Afternoon session: 24 mainstream children and up to an additional 7 I CAN children.

Our approach to learning embodies a positive attitude to life and learning as they prepare to start their journey through school life. We aspire to encourage our children to feel equipped to play an active role in life as they grow and flourish in our care. Harris Primary Chafford Hundred believe that diversity is a strength, which should be respected and celebrated by all those who learn and visit us. The nursery at Harris Primary Chafford Hundred offers places for supporting children who need help with ‘speech and language’ under the ‘I-can’ Speech and Language scheme. Children are put forward to us via Thurrock, who have ‘speech and language’ difficulties and have one-to-one and group teaching with speech and language therapists who also liaise with our ‘I-can’ teachers who are based in the nursery, to support these children. Children who attend the I CAN nursery are integrated into the mainstream nursery to play and learn with all of the other children.

We are committed to ensuring equality of opportunities for all and we will endeavour to develop a culture of inclusion and diversity in which people feel free to participate fully in Nursery life, regardless of their race or gender.

We hope the pictures show you exactly how much is happening at our wonderful Nursery.

If you would like to apply for a place in our nursery, please send an email for the attention of the Admission's Officer to info@harrisprimarychaffordhundred.org.uk or call the school office on 01375 484490 for an application form.
