Nursery Admissions
Applications will open on Saturday 7th March 2026 at 10am
Places will be allocated on a first come first serve basis and will be based on the time you submit your application from 10am on Saturday 7th March 2026
Paper copies can be collected from reception

Applications received before 10am will NOT be accepted.
IN PERSON:
Please come to the Primary school on Saturday 7th March 2026 with your form already filled out and ready to hand in.
The doors will open at 9:30am in preparation for the applications opening at 10am.
The school opening hours on this day will be 9:30am-12pm
PLEASE NOTE:
The online and in person applications will open at the same time on this day and treated equally. Every application will be time stamped and the places will be allocated based on this.
Reception Applications
The Academy has an admission number of 90 in Reception for September 2026. If your child was born If your child was born between 1 September 2021 and 31 August 2022, you must apply for their reception school place for September 2026.
Applications for places in Reception should be made on the home Local Authority’s Common Application Form. These are accessible on the Local Authority's (LA's) website and should be submitted in accordance with the LA’s published deadlines for applications (normally early to mid-January before the academic year in which the child is eligible for entry).

For Parent(s) wishing to appeal against the Academy’s decision on admissions, for any year group, please complete the admissions appeals paperwork via Essex County Council.

In-Year Applications
If you are looking for a place in Harris Primary Academy Chafford Hundred because you have recently moved into the area, or your child is at another primary school and you feel that a change of school would benefit their education and/or general well-being, you are entitled to apply for a school place.
If you wish to make an in-year application you must contact the Admissions Team at Thurrock Council who will advise you of how to apply either in person or online.

Deferred/Delayed Entry
Deferring Entry Within the Same Academic Year - You have a legal right to defer your child's start date until later in the same school year, without losing the offered place, as long as they start by the beginning of the term after their fifth birthday.
Requesting a Delayed Entry to the Following Academic Year (For Summer-Born Children) - For children born between 1 April and 31 August (summer-born), you can request to delay their entry so they start Reception a full year later, in the September following their fifth birthday.
